Hello! My name is Alex, and I’m passionate about all things number related. Having studied in two different fields, the one commonality that both share is the focus on data as an objective foundations the base findings and propositions. Throughout my academic career, I took classes various classes that sought to quantify real-world phenomenon, even when not strictly possible, whether it be in relation to the macroeconomic environment or the efficiency of a transportation system. I spent most of my time reading academic research papers, working on research projects of my own design, and running various analytical tests and processes in pursuit of achieving a research goal. However, I always keep in mind that while useful, the numbers are only half the story. Throughout my academic and professional career, I’ve learned that data can be presented any way necessary to fit a certain narrative and make it look good. Behind every datapoint is a story, and more often than not, a person with their own experiences, challenges, and life. Given this very analytical and quantitative background, it’s no surprise I decided to puruse a career in data science/analytics!

When I'm not crunching numbers, some of my hobbies include playing the guitar, cooking, tending (somewhat successfully) to my two bonsai trees, going out on walks, dabbling a tad with drawing, and playing games.
